Cabriolets had two doors, a passenger compartment with a bench seat which could accommodate two adults comfortably and a standard rumble seat which could accommodate two additional passengers in fair weather. The little Ford was just as happy in FL as it was when we left WI. Before you know it your field will be narrowed down to what you like. That translates to 48 MPH with 19" wheels and 4.75-5.00/19 tires with the stock rear-end gear ratio. So I guess it all depends on the driver and road conditions and how well you trust your A's motor to take the higher RPM's and the rest of your drive train as well as your A as a whole I guess? They were then flattened (combined) and then reduced in size to get the size below 100k. I am not about speed if I want to fly I should have never bought a Model A! In some of the posts some different angles came up that I had not considered before like the shocks..I am running stock rebuilt shocks and the car handles nicely in the curves and the ride is good for a stock Model A I guess as it is the only A that I have drove so I really don't have nothing to compare to.

Typical gas mileage was between 20 and 30 mpg using a Zenith one-barrel carburetor. Traffic was moving at 70 mph plus, he was tooling along at over 65 mph. It is not stressed so much by RPM. 1928 and 29 Sport Coupe bodies have the early style Model A cowl, whereas the 1929 Cabriolet has a hood and cowl design similar to the1930/31 models. Come spring time, drain your radiator of all antifreeze, run a gallon water through with a radiator cleaner and run the car for 5 minutes, drain and replace with clear clean water and radiator rust inhibitor. They were replaced mid-year by the slant windshield 68C models so a straight windshield does not necessary indicate a 1930 model but a slant windshield must be a 1931 model. This is one of those subjects that routinely almost nobody agrees on. The engine is fairly happy until the speedometer is indicating 50mphand I am actually traveling 55mph. 082-A, B 30-31 Closed Cab 160-C 1931 Dlx Fordor Sedan READ and learn, that is our best suggestion, talk to people about their cars, likes and dislikes, go to shows, events and cruise nights, try to see if you can drive a Model A, and different models, and most of all JOIN MARC and your local club affiliate. 135-A 1929 Taxi 
It should be as good as or better than a new engine. In my experience, many of the people with heavier body styles than the Phaeton tend to be the ones that think a slower speed is better. Early 30 68B Cabriolets can be distinguished from 31 and late 30 68B models by their dash panels and interior hardware. Early 31 Cabriolets were a carryover of the late 30 straight windshield 68B models.

Always check you tires for nails, glass and any other things that might have fallen on your garage floor. If everything is stock though you should have a 4.10 rear end as opposed to the car 3.78. 50 is not too bad once you get used to it. 
The Roadster was considered an open car rather than a convertible. I believe in the comfort factor, every car is slightly different from the next. HA! Todays driving is much different than in the days of Henry Ford, our streets are paved and most of us dont drive more than 2500 miles a year on average. Because of her Flat Head Ted brake system she stops very efficiently from her comfort zone speeds. Your modern car also has a top spped but would you or the engine like that speed very long? 
I have been running around 30 to 35 on two lane back roads and seems a good speed for this car, on highway is around 40 to 42 I took my GPS to accurately check speed I just didn't know what "IS" a normal highway speed she will cruse nicely at 42 mph but today feeling a little more like "LETS SEE WHAT THIS BABY WILL DO" I ran her up to 50 mph but with stock transmission it sounded like I needed another gear to change into! Things get noisy in the roadster over 40 but somehow it doesn't feel as fast with the top down. Here is a short list of commonly seen options and accessories:

This motor is the best motor I have ever driven in a Model A, and I have driven alot of cars in the DFW area. Reflectors placed on the same spot (you can just see the pencil outline on the cardboard) and same rotation. Common sense goes a long way. Once again, find the original part and use that. My dead stock A's seem have a sweet spot in the low 50's and that where I usually drive. Purchasing YOUR car is a very personal thing, remember is YOUR CAR and you have to like it and drive it! Plastic also Shinier, the orig is too dull. Sport Coupes can be distinguished from Cabriolets by an exterior visor over the windshield, solid door frames which surround the side windows and partially painted instead of fully chrome plated landau irons. I am fine at 40 to 42 mph that is plenty fast to get you skint up!

I don't have a tach; those numbers were calculated from the mounted diameter of the tires / circumference, which in turn is calculated into "revolutions per mile", which is then calculated against the ring & pinion ratio to determine the "engine revolutions per mile", which in turn gives you your engine RPM at a given road-speed Robert: I have a 1930 deluxe coupe that is fully stock. We drive ours at fifty MPH where the road permits, faster when passing or getting out of the way of fast moving vehicles . 049-A 28-29 Special Coupe Many people drive their cars quite fast, but I have always found that the car is happiest between 35 and 45. If we get on the interstate, usually atleast 45 is the minumum. Dont skimp on the quality ever!! Be sure to look at prices, availability, and ease of getting NOS or Repop Parts for you model. 055-B 30-31 Standard Tudor Sedan If your car does have rayon tire cord and have been used for a number or years be sure to check the tire wear regularly and should be replaced if noticeable wear is present.

50 is not too bad once you get used to it. The Roadster was considered an open car rather than a convertible. I believe in the comfort factor, every car is slightly different from the next. HA! Todays driving is much different than in the days of Henry Ford, our streets are paved and most of us dont drive more than 2500 miles a year on average. Because of her Flat Head Ted brake system she stops very efficiently from her comfort zone speeds. Your modern car also has a top spped but would you or the engine like that speed very long? I have been running around 30 to 35 on two lane back roads and seems a good speed for this car, on highway is around 40 to 42 I took my GPS to accurately check speed I just didn't know what "IS" a normal highway speed she will cruse nicely at 42 mph but today feeling a little more like "LETS SEE WHAT THIS BABY WILL DO" I ran her up to 50 mph but with stock transmission it sounded like I needed another gear to change into! This motor is the best motor I have ever driven in a Model A, and I have driven alot of cars in the DFW area. Reflectors placed on the same spot (you can just see the pencil outline on the cardboard) and same rotation. Common sense goes a long way. Once again, find the original part and use that. My dead stock A's seem have a sweet spot in the low 50's and that where I usually drive. Purchasing YOUR car is a very personal thing, remember is YOUR CAR and you have to like it and drive it! Plastic also Shinier, the orig is too dull. Sport Coupes can be distinguished from Cabriolets by an exterior visor over the windshield, solid door frames which surround the side windows and partially painted instead of fully chrome plated landau irons. I am fine at 40 to 42 mph that is plenty fast to get you skint up!

I agree with this. I don't have a tach; those numbers were calculated from the mounted diameter of the tires / circumference, which in turn is calculated into "revolutions per mile", which is then calculated against the ring & pinion ratio to determine the "engine revolutions per mile", which in turn gives you your engine RPM at a given road-speed Robert: I have a 1930 deluxe coupe that is fully stock. We drive ours at fifty MPH where the road permits, faster when passing or getting out of the way of fast moving vehicles . 049-A 28-29 Special Coupe Many people drive their cars quite fast, but I have always found that the car is happiest between 35 and 45. If we get on the interstate, usually atleast 45 is the minumum. Dont skimp on the quality ever!! Be sure to look at prices, availability, and ease of getting NOS or Repop Parts for you model. 055-B 30-31 Standard Tudor Sedan If your car does have rayon tire cord and have been used for a number or years be sure to check the tire wear regularly and should be replaced if noticeable wear is present.
