The scallops to start were very fresh and cooked to perfection, as was the sea bass main. The collection process was so well organised and efficient, and it is excellent value for money with huge portions! The food and service was excellent. The wifi was good which makes a change! Both times we were served by Kate, a fantastic waitress- no request was too big for her and she was very attentive and friendly. Really friendly staff! They found us a table for 6 people, which surprised me, as we didnt book. We were there as part of a wedding group. Staff are very attentive ,we were served by a lovely young man called Bertie who was very polite and had good local knowledge. Food in the evening was delicious. The menu was excellent with a wide variety of choice, so something for everybody. Beautifully prepared and presented food with plenty of veggie options. Definitely recommend the Roast Beef!! Lovely hotel, very clean, great room, good selection of drinks, fabulous food, and staff that couldnt do enough to make our very brief stay a night to remember.. Covid 19 guidelines were in place so we felt safe and relaxed. She even offered to put a personal note with the bottle and ensure that any cards which had been arranged would also be in her room. There is an imaginative menu, and you can enjoy your meal in a really beautiful setting ( In summer the sheltered garden with its views of the hills around is a fantastic place for a leisurely lunch.) Called in to celebrate my partner's new job , lovely warm welcome by staff on the main entrance, we asked to be seated in the garden area, stunning view with well maintained gardens. We didnt know there was live music on which was excellent and really set the ambiance. We were not disappointed. Last week my husband and I went to the Maynard to celebrate our second wedding anniversary (we got married there) and had a wonderful time! The welcome was so warm, even for our boisterous dog, and the food terrific. The decor is smart and modern, we ate inside as it was raining but the garden also looked good with plenty of seating. The handmade Brisket and Cheese Burger was one of the nicest I have had for a while. East Yorkshire. Breakfast was excellent. I called to arrange for a bottle of wine to be put in my daughters room on her arrival for her birthday. The Maynard is in a lovely setting & we cant wait to return again. I cannot say that I have been before but I have driven past a good few times, I had seen the place advertised on Instagram and I thought it looked amazing so as I had planned a day out for a walk and paddle at Padley Gorge I thought there would be no better way to start the day than a good breakfast. Such a wonderful setting. The views across the valley are spectacular with a lovely terrace if the weather is warm. I cannot wait to visit again! It was the first time weve been to The Maynard (newly revamped) and we will definitely be returning. A lovely meal beautifully presented.
