It will smell strongly, but it will dissipate taking some smell off with it. I scrubbed. Liquids and creams cover everything, and you have no choice but to wash it all. The smell is toned down now (actually smells pretty good), but it is so pervasive that I am not even wanting to put any fragrance on myself. They bind together. I know spraying regular vinegar and letting it air dry knocks out cat urine, and that can be a really overwhelming odor.
